Great Wedding Advice For You

by Ciara Daykin

Before going on to give some wonderful wedding advice, I would like to share my best moment during a wedding. It's the time when the newly-weds have their first dance. As I look at them all happy and glowing, I am relieved that everything has gone as well as planned and the stars of the night are finally married.

A Million Moving Pieces To Coordinate

When I plan a wedding as you can imagine there are a million moving pieces coming together to create the overall experience. Especially when I plan really big weddings I have to really be on top of what's going on with each element that makes up the wedding to ensure that everything is going in the right direction.

"What is your best wedding advice for pulling off a grand wedding?" Now this is a question which I am often asked, especially in a scenario of a big wedding. Now if it were that simple I would have been able to give an answer in a few words. But it isn't really. I think the best way to understand this point is if we compare a big wedding to a big movie. There are certain elements that are necessary to make a movie a success. And the same elements are necessary to make a big wedding a success. Here are the elements which are ESSENTIAL to planning a grand wedding:

1. HIRE a Wedding Planner - This is one of the best pieces of wedding advice I can give. In a big wedding, there are a lot of people who need to be taken care of. You don't have the time and energy to do it all on your own. So let someone else do it for you.

2. You Are The Star, You Need A Great Director - When you're trying to pull off a mega wedding, especially if it's in a unique or nontraditional location, do not go shopping for a wedding planner on the clearance rack. You need someone that has a strong team, great experience and also someone that has the confidence to handle what you're looking for. A great wedding planner lets their couple shine.

3. Hire someone you can Bond with - If the star of the movie and the director don't understand each other or can't see eye-to-eye, then the movie is bound to be a failure. So take my wedding advice and hire a wedding planner you can easily connect with. Remember you will be spending a lot of your time with your wedding planner, so make sure that it is someone who understands you and who you understand.

4. A Good Team with Supporting Cast - Yes, your supporting cast are the members of your bridal party and your parents. They need to exactly know what's going to happen at the wedding. Make sure they understand that they need to give their full support in this grand affair.

5. The Crew Needs To Be Tight- A wedding is only as good as the people putting it together and you really need to make sure that your vendors are top notch, that they are aligned with your vision and that they are aligned with each other for optimum teamwork.

6. The Script Must Be Flawless- You need to be incredibly organized. Each member of the team needs an event binder filled with every piece of information possible, including an itinerary. A schedule showing where each member of the bridal party and each vendor is going to be each hour is a must. That way if anyone has a question, your planner has the answer. To pull off something like this, organization is essential.

Whatever your ideas may be for your wedding, you must clearly understand what they are and how and where you want to accomplish them. It doesn't really matter whether you want a small wedding or a big one. But when you sit down to plan your wedding, you need to make sure that all the wheels are perfectly aligned and working smoothly. So take my wedding advice and get the perfect wedding for yourself.

Is the Economy Hurting Your Wedding Plans?

by Ciara Daykin

It's hard to ignore what's happening with the world economy right now. It's making people really worried about their finances. And when you're planning a wedding you're already mega concerned about your budget so this just escalates things majorly.

And it sucks!

I know. Here you are all happy and glowing with the idea of having that beautiful wedding and the economy decides to ruin it all. And why US???

Well, the economy didn't really choose the right time to go down. But well, it has chosen this time. The time when you are busy planning your wedding. You may be tearing your hair out wondering what to choose. Should you have an inexpensive wedding and forget that wedding you had been planning for? Or should you forget about your budget and the economy and carry out your plans and have a great wedding nevertheless?

While you are wondering about what to choose, let me give you some great news! You can actually do both!

How do I Plan My Wedding Considering the Economy Nowadays

So I got you interested, didn't I? Well, here our some wonderful ideas which will definitely help you get that spectacular wedding even in today's economy:

Stop Before You Get Into Too Much Debt - Most couples go deeply into debts planning an extravagant wedding which doesn't really fit into their budgets. That's not a very smart idea and in planning a wedding considering the economy nowadays, you need to be more careful. You could end up in much deeper debt than you expect. So make those credit card purchases but carefully. Use your credit card keeping in mind the amount of debt you can pay back easily and quickly. Another thing you should do is sit down together with your parents and work out the amount that you have available. Once you have calculated the amount you have, plan your purchases within it. If you have a long guest list, then cut it down. Invite only a small number of people. It will help you get that lavish wedding.

Stop Before You Hire Those Small and Inexpensive Vendors - Well, your budget is tight and the economy isn't helping much, but that doesn't mean that you should choose the cheapest vendor. These small fly by night vendors often cannot be trusted. They suddenly appear during tough times. They impress you with how they can give you that great wedding in your limited budget. They take a deposit from you. And then you will be running around trying to get a hold of them. You don't want that to happen, right? So pick your vendor carefully. Pick people who have experience in planning the kind of wedding you want and who have been around for some time.

Make A Budget AND Stick To It- If you want to come out a winner despite the condition of the economy, you need to make a budget and stay within it. So go ahead, make a budget for your wedding and for your life together. It will make you realize that things aren't really that bad as you thought they might be. This will allow you to be in control and confident in your decisions.

Stop Before You Say "No" to a Wedding Planner - I know if you do decide to hire a wedding planner it will be another thing to fit into your budget and there is just not enough money for a planner. But then that is what the wedding planner is supposed to do. Get you that perfect wedding within your budget. In planning your wedding, you need to be able to garner all the resources that you can find. This is where a wedding planner can really help. A wedding planner will know the right vendor for your wedding. They know where you can get those perfect things for decorating your wedding at the perfect price. They are also the ones who can negotiate with different vendors to get some great discounts. So don't say no to a wedding planner, say yes.

Stop paying attention to the doom an gloom about the economy on the TV! Nay saying has never helped anyone and they will not help you either. You have more important things to think about and plan. So first things first, don't get upset. Slowly and steadily keep on planning your wedding. With some smart thinking you can easily get that wedding you always dreamed about within your budget.

A Winter Wedding for the Romantic in You

by Ciara Daykin

If you are still wondering which the best time for your wedding is, then think about having a winter wedding. Imagine having a wedding with the snow glistening in the moonlight and a warm fire burning inside. The wonderful candle light will provide you with the perfect romantic ambience which will make your wedding a dream wedding. Besides the fact that a winter wedding provides the perfect romantic setting, it offers the bride more choices. Summertime and springtime are usually considered the busiest wedding seasons by wedding professionals whereas winters are lean periods. There are, therefore, more open dates available in winters. This offers the bride a great opportunity to pick the perfect wedding date, arrangement, setting and vendor.

Wintertime Wedding Wonder

You might want to give your winter wedding celebrations your own personal touch. If you are wondering how, here is some help.

Give your winter wedding the personal touch by using these 5 great ideas:

1. Let the outdoors come inside - So you want your wedding to be graceful and sophisticated. But you are worried that you cannot have such a wedding outdoors. Don't worry. You can always get the outdoors inside. Imagine this: You are dressed in a beautiful flowing wedding dress, you walk down an aisle which is lined up with trees, and the trees are decorated with frosty branches sparkling with lovely blue lighting. If that sounds like your ideal wedding, then go ahead and get the outdoors inside on your wedding date and still retain the elegance in it.

2. Make your guests feel at home- In the wintertime there's nothing better than a nice cup of hot chocolate. If you're a wintertime bride why not make your signature drink a hot one with a Mexican Hot Chocolate (hot chili powder mixed with cinnamon and unsweetened chocolate)

3. Look chic in stylish winter outfits - Wintertime fashion is anyway very elegant and classy. How about making the best use of them at your winter wedding. Imagine yourself looking prettier than ever in a laced dress with the long sleeves and the lovely long gloves. Won't that make your guests marvel at your beauty? You can of course top it up with a little cute fur hat or cap and big furry boots for picture time. And of course, men always look great in hats in winter.

4. Hearty winter foods - Winter is the time to serve some hearty dishes for your guests. And a winter wedding offers the perfect opportunity to treat your guests with great food. Summers are too hot. You have to pick your food with care. There are not many things that you can serve in a summertime wedding. But winters are the time to go all out. You have great choices available. A hot meal will be appreciated by everyone. To top it all you can ask the caterer to use some delicious and savory herbs in the food to give it some personal touch.

5. The Colors of Winter - Some people prefer going with white at their winter weddings. It always works great. But you may want to add a dash of color to your winter wedding. Winters are the time to try out some deep rich colors. You can choose sapphire blue. Greens and Purples are also perfect for a wedding in the winters. Merlots and deep rich scarlet red also look elegant. Of course you can also pick a combination of the colors of ivory, cream and white, which is always the favorite of brides.

I bet all these things are making you long for a winter wedding. You probably never thought that a wedding in wintertime could actually offer you so many choices and so much romance. Believe me, your guests are probably fed up of packing another summertime wedding to attend. They will thank you for inviting them to a relaxing, enjoyable and romantic winter wedding.
